I drew a grid on the canvas and then drew the picture (just a few lines and curves)  (2 or 3 hours)       










I did a wash using slightly different shades of blue/yellow so I don't lose my lines (1 hour) day 1











I painted the top left hand side first - using cobalt blue and some cerulean blue and a little bit of titanium white (1 hour) day 1












I painted the top right-hand-side using titanium white towards the bottom and a little bit of cerulean blue in the middle/top portion. (20 minutes)  (next day - day 2)












I painted the small cloud at the right hand (middle) with cerulean blue and a bit of  white. (10 minutes) day 2












I painted the mountain outline/smoke in the middle using cobalt blue and a bit of black. (45 minutes) day 2












Painted the purple of the fire using cobalt purple hue - it didn't work (I didn't like the result) added rose hue, flesh hue, cerulean blue, orange etc. till it all ended up being muddy and nothing more. So, decided to paint the black mountainside and finish the rest of the painting. Moved some of the black color around the fire and then scraped off the paint from the middle. Will try to finish it tomorrow or another day. (2 hours)   day 3


    

Cleaned off the fire area paint with a pallet knife and used a different shade of red (bought yesterday) - called permanent rose and it seemed to be better than the purple shades. Mixed in a little white and a fraction of purple and blue. Touched up the dark mountainside and spread the pink fire/haze a little bit. DONE!
