Drew the Columbine flower. Need to draw the half Aster.

Made the middle petals larger and the petal on the right longer.

Drew the partial flower on the bottom left hand side. Ready to Paint. Have decided
not to use any washes - the Fishermen painting got too runny when I applied
the wash (bought new thinner last month).

columbine04.jpg
Started painting the background - no more washes; the top half  - dark greens and blacks
 along the flower borders; and for the background - a little brown, black  and green. Will
 paint the three large petals blue and the five inside ones white. And then do the last
 flower petal (blue) then the bottom half background; followed by the little flower last.

Did the left blue petal first followed by the three white petals from left to right;
then the right blue petal followed by the left bottom blue petal - then lunch.

After lunch; did the outlines of the leaves a the bottom; then the two middle white
   petals (left to right) and then the bottom blue petal - whew!  I had used a software to
try to decipher the color of the blue petals - it came as Grey with equal parts Red;
 Blue and Green - I mixed quite a bit of the colors and then added bright red to get
the streaks; also added shades (with black) and light with white. Overall, I like the
flower; will do the background in one session - maybe tomorrow or Saturday; that
will leave the middle - yellow part for last.

Finished all the background; designed a fixed easel and installed it; will align it when  this
 painting is finished and moved out. Will also install a similar easel on the facing wall.

columbine08.jpg
Painted the violet of the Aster and then the yellow; also started the yellow for the middle
 of the Columbine; will let it dry a bit then finish the yellow/white middle.
